Softball Saskatchewan is pleased to announce that Keith Mackintosh of Saskatoon has been selected as our new Provincial High Performance Coach. This new part-time position will focus on providing High Performance Coach and Athlete development opportunities for those involved in the Training to Train (T2T) and Training to Compete (T2C) stages of our Long Term Player Development Model, which includes U16, U18, and U21 age groups.
Keith brings with him a solid foundation for involvement at the High Performance level. He was a member of our Men's National team since 1998 and has competed in numerous International events including two World Championships. Keith received numerous selections as All-Canadian and All World All-Stars at Canadian and ISC Championships. Keith has been a member of five Canadian Championship teams. He is highly regarded as a hitting specialist and has helped us with this the last couple of years at our Introduction to Excellence camps.
Softball Saskatchewan is offering the following Hitting Clinics. This clinic is open to boys and girls U16 to U21 (Bantam to Junior) age categories. Groups will be determined by age group and if you select one or both clinics. If you take both clinics Keith will continue building on what you learned at the first clinic.
These clinics will cover the following aspects of hitting: The Swing, Bunting, Situational Hitting, Plate Coverage and Mental Focus. We will also discuss a variety of Hitting Drills that coaches can implement into their practice plans. The Hitting Clinics are scheduled for the following dates:

**Note: if you attend both player clinics – you will only have to pay $25.00**
The groups will be of 5-10 athletes (with their coaches), with each group receiving 1 hour of instruction/practice in their groups. Please note a player could be placed in one session anytime in that span! A confirmation email will be emailed or faxed out after the registration deadline with group time and location. If you do not have an email or fax please phone the office for registration confirmation.

Everyone must pre-register through the office by Monday, February 13th, 2012. Every player must bring indoor shoes, bat and helmet to the clinic.

Pitching Clinic
March 4 - April 1 2012
Softball Saskatchewan is implementing Softball Canada’s new National Pitching Program, the CANpitch program! It was created to provide a nationally standardized curriculum based on Softball Canada’s Long-Term Player Development (LTPD) framework to introduce and develop the skill of windmill pitching to players. This program is designed for the FUNdamentals stage, the Learning To Train stage, and the Training To Train stage. Please note: we are offering this clinic to 8-16 year olds.
The program will run in Saskatoon on the following Sundays: March 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, Apr. 1st, 2012, from 2:00pm – 5:00pm. Please note there are 3 different 1 hour sessions, therefore the player will be assigned a 1 hour session during that time slot! You will have the same time each week. Groups will be between 5-7 players per instructor.
Instructors: Katherine Guenther – has played softball for 13 years and has attended numerous Provincial, Western and Canadian Championships. She was on the 2003 Western Canada Summer Games team, and her Junior ladies team has won Gold at 3 Canadian Championships, and won Gold twice at the Canadian University National Championship for the University of Saskatchewan Lady Saxon team. Katherine has also won Top Pitching, Top Batting, and All-Star awards at both Canadians & University Championships. You can see Katherine in action in the ladies league for Saskatoon Outlaws.
Please remember to bring: a person to catch for you that isn’t in the clinic, clean indoor shoes, ball glove; filled water bottle (no soft drinks please). An indoor ball will be provided for you to use.
A confirmation letter will be sent out after the registration deadline with group time and location. For faster response please include your email address on the registration form.
Registration Fee for the 5 sessions is $70.00 (non-refundable) made payable to Softball Sask. with a completely filled out registration form.
